UP Silakbo presents Areglo, a benefit concert featuring independent artists Ang Bandang Shirley, Jensen and the Flips, Reese Lansangan, Cheats, and Tom’s Story, plus some local acts such as Comic and Equals on May 4, 2017 (Thursday) at 5:30 pm at Baker Hall, UP Los Baños, Laguna.

The beneficiary of the proceeds from the event is Mang Alexander Ortega, a blind man who travels daily from Quezon City to play the harmonica at the Los Baños Junction.

The Life Drawing Session 2 by Pens N’ Brushes

Pens N’ Brushes Philippines is hosting its second The Life Drawing Session event (an Open Nude Figure Drawing Jam) on May 6, 2017 (Saturday) from 6 pm to 10 pm at The Open Space, Makati City. The theme will revolve around the pairing of opposing signs Taurus and Gemini and will provide as a central backdrop to this event from the music to the participating artists’ physical environment. Detalye Design Group will be transforming the venue into a celestial setting while art materials will be provided by Faber-Castell Philippines (although guests are welcome to bring their own materials of choice).

Pens N’ Brushes is a Singapore-based art non-profit group composed of individuals who express art in all forms and mediums. Its figure drawing events explore the art in the human body in a casual setting where people can also socialize and enjoy good music, wines, and refreshments at the same time.

Art students, figurative artists, professionals, homemakers, and those who simply want to draw are all welcome to join.

BGC Art Mart, a project of Bonifacio Art Foundation, Inc. (BAFI), is calling for applications from artists and sellers of original, artisanal and affordable art for its event on May 20 to 21 at the BGC Arts Center. Deadline of submission of application is May 10, 2017.

BAFI aims to support local artists and makers of crafts and wearables, sculptures, prints and other artworks by providing a space/venue for the artists to showcase and sell their products every 3rd weekend of the month and special occasions in BGC at a minimal fixed fee. Participation fee for confirmed sellers is Php500/day for 2 days or Php800/day for 1 day.

Presented by UP Manila Dramatista, Lean is a musical based on the life of activist, nationalist and student leader Leandro “Lean” Alejandro. Alejandro fought for democracy against the backdrop of the Marcos dictatorship in the Philippines in the 80s.
